Important send out update

Dear valued TNVD clients,
Please note that ongoing changes at the US border have forced us to modify our send out schedule.

-Effective immediately, samples destined for the US will be going out on Tuesday morning ONLY (no US send outs Thursday morning for the time being). This is to avoid potential weekend delays. As usual, please have samples arrive at the lab on Monday evening at the latest, and alert our team ahead of time for especially time sensitive tests such as flow cytometry.

-Samples destined for within Canada remain unaffected. Samples for the Animal Health Centre Abbotsford go out Tuesday-Friday, and to Guelph Animal Health Lab and Prairie Diagnostic Services on Tuesday and Thursday.

-As always, please reach out if you have questions about send out testing or wish to discuss to which external laboratory your samples will be sent.

We thank you for your continued patience as we navigate these challenges; please stay tuned for updates as we are constantly working to try and find alternative solutions.

Thank you for your understanding,
-Your team at True North Veterinary Diagnostics

Send Out Update for Equine Samples

We are currently experiencing delays and interruptions in shipping Equine (and any species other than canine or feline) samples across the border into the USA due to changing regulations at the border. As a result, testing uniquely performed in the USA may be delayed or unavailable. Please contact the lab for more information. Certain Canadian diagnostics centers may be offering specific tests of interest (e.g., an equine or foal diarrhea PCR panel is available at University of Guelph). We are in the process of updating our website. As noted above, you may find that some tests may no longer be available. For tests that are still offered, changes in shipping logistics may result in adjusted prices. Our apologies for this disruption in service. We are looking into alternative solutions to this issue.

Add on urinalysis within 7 days

In an effort to better serve you, we are extending the period for add on urinalysis (on the same qualifying profiles) from within 72 hours to within 7 days of the profile submission. Please note that the profile accession number must be included with the urinalysis submission.

While paired chemistry and urinalysis are still optimal for evaluating renal function, we hope that the change is helpful for busy practitioners and their clients.
